It is confirmed. We are unusual.

I got a survey phone call yesterday. She was asking about our television-viewing preferences. I explained that we do not watch television.

Long pause...

She, "At all?"

Me, "Nope."

She, "What do you do for entertainment?"

Me, "We read books, spend time outside, work puzzles, play boardgames..."

Longer pause...

She, "Well, if you were to turn the television on, what would you watch?"

Me, "Our television does not receive channels. We do not watch it."

Longest pause yet...

She, "Can I send you a form to fill out? It is very unusual to find a family that does not watch television and we would like your feedback."

Turns out we are a rare find!

ROFL! We are the same way. The Nielsen people never called when we had TV, we've been TV free for more than 8 years now and it seems like they call at least once a year.

Also, we bought a new van 2 years ago, and none of the salesmen could wrap their heads around the fact that we didn't want a DVD player in our vehicle.

Part of me likes having no TV just so I can see people's reactions when they find out.

Love it. Us too! Good for you guys:) We have a friend that we will visit and it drives her nuts that Max will not watch her tv. She has on idea how to entertain him because all her son does is watch tv. I think she truly feels that he wants to watch tv but we just won't let him. Nope, not the case...not interested!

It is funny. The same thing happened to me a few months back. They just could not believe that we did not watch any channels or cable!! I told them I could tell them about the reruns of Andy Griffith we had rented. LOL.

It is such a blessing, we are five years running and do not miss it!
